If you ever bought marijuana before, you know how awkward it can be to ask around for “A friend of a friend who knows a guy…” that can help you score something. Well, this is a thing from the past because now there’s an app that can fix you up.
Canary is a pot delivery app for iPhone and the brainchild of University of Washington students Josiah Tullis and Megh Vakharia. Thanks to the app users will be able to order their favorite strain and how much from the local dispensary and have it delivered to their front door. Dispensary will partner with the app and Canary will employ the drivers. Delivery services of this kind do exist already but this will be the first phone app of this kind and it goes without saying that it will be a successful one.
But don’t get too excited because there’s a catch: Canary will be available only to medical-marijuana card holders to begin with but ultimately the plan is to one day delivering recreational market as well as medical.
Users of the app will have to scan their medical cards when placing an order and present the card to the drivers upon delivery.
Canary will launch in mid July covering Seattle and Denver first but Tullis and Vakharia are looking to establish a similar setup in other USA States.
Well, what can I say: brilliant idea and hopefully the Android users will not be left behind!
